Frederick County Charter Board public outreach meeting sponsored by Frederick County Farm Bureau and Frederick County Pomona Grange will be held at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the New Market Grange Hall, 14 N. The Frederick County Master Gardeners will host "Ask a Master Gardener" plant clinics from 10 a.m. to noon every Saturday through Aug. 27 at the West Frederick Farmers Market on Baughman's Lane. In addition, Master Gardeners will offer "Ask a Master Gardener" plant clinics from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 8 and Aug 5 in the Trust Conference Room. An evening plant clinic will be offered from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 20 in the Community Room of the C. Burr Artz Public Library. Master Gardeners look at samples of ailing plants to make a diagnosis, give recommendations, answer questions and provide printed information on a variety of gardening subjects. The public is encouraged to bring in plant samples (branch, leaf or clear picture), insect samples, or lawn and garden questions to the clinic and get free advice. AGsploration -- the Science of Maryland Agriculture planned for June 27-28 at the Frederick County 4-H Camp and Activity Center in Frederick, is a new program being offered by the University of Maryland Extension 4-H Program to enhance youths' science, technology, engineering and mathematics skills though interactive lessons that focus on Maryland's No. 1 industry, agriculture. The AGsploration team will offer a two-day, one-night event for youth who have completed fifth through eighth grade.
