I get a lot of questions when it comes to the legitimacy of Government boat auctions . Mostly around whether the Gov't is seizing and auctioning thousands of newer boats and marine equipment on a daily basis. The truth is I like boat auctions and any type of auction in general simply because you establish exactly what you will pay for any given seized asset. The bottom line with auctions is that YOU usually are in control and thereby determine what you are prepared to pay unlike the normal scenario where a dealer decides what your price is.. Participate in several online auctions and you will more than likely save…anywhere from 40 to 60% can be expected.
Of course most aren't patient enough to profit from this kind of option due to the fact there's a lack of committment in searching for a boat at auction or they simply a light stab at it once or twice and when they're unable to find their exact model on day one they promptly determine boat auctions are a a huge waste of effort!. In reality, nothing could possibly be more incorrect. Hasty assumptions serves auction attendees like myself to by weeding out the competition. The more problems and doubts they dream up or listen to the more auction goers capitalize on it.

So here's the deal with Gov't auctions. Realize that a lot of the venues the Government uses to sell off their assets are what I refer to as "transparent markets". These sites easily enable 'tire kickers' to review the particular asset with a similar one and quickly determine around how much their bid needs to be. Even having this info It's not uncommon for them to still overbid.
