Hands Across Sand: On June 25 at noon in corresponding time zones, people around the world will join hands on beaches and in cities for the second annual Hands Across The Sand to discourage offshore drilling. Carmel Valley's Fine Wine
Monterey County has one of the most variable climates in California across its lands. As a result it is able to produce an amazing 42 wine varietals. Just a few of these are Barbera, Dolcetto, Sangiovese, Chenin Blanc, Muscat Giallo, Riesling, and Semillon. The climate of Carmel is determined by the cooling effect of the ocean and therefore it more easily produces other varietals. Those most commonly grown in Carmel include Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Zinfandel, and Pinot Noir. The successful wines of Carmel and the rest of Monterey County can be found local restaurants and outlets and some are distributed to select destinations around the world.
Galante Vineyards
