State architectural firms honored

Members entered 44 projects in five categories: architecture, interiors, urban design, historic preservation/adaptive reuse and unbuilt. Firms and projects honored were:

•Elliott + Associates Architects, architecture category, for POPS in Arcadia.

•Fitzsimmons Architects, unbuilt category, for Kerr Family Homestead and Chickasaw Nation Pavilion.

•Elliott + Associates Architects, historic preservation/adaptive reuse category, for Gaylord-Pickens Oklahoma Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

•Selser Schaefer Architects, unbuilt category, Visual Arts Center.

•Hornbeek Blatt Architects, historic preservation/adaptive reuse, 1007 N Broadway.

•Frankfurt Short Bruza, urban design category, Chickasha Downtown Master Plan.

•Elliott + Associates Architects, architecture category, Chesapeake Car Park One.

•Randy Floyd Architects, architecture category, Oklahoma State Capitol West Entry Addition.

•TAParchitecture, interiors category, Visual Image Advertising project.

•Studio Architecture, unbuilt category, Flatiron project.

The jury was made up of three Seattle architects: Peter Steinbrueck of Steinbrueck Urban Strategies, Cima Malek-Aslani of Schacht Aslani Architects and Daren Doss of Chadbourne + Doss Architects.

The awards program “celebrates the best in architecture and urban design. We are excited to showcase this outstanding architecture designed by our local Oklahoma architects,” said Melissa Hunt, executive director for the AIA Central Oklahoma Chapter.
